Every year, Charm has been sponsoring our in-house competitions. This year is no different. 

She would normally choose a Rock genre for her competition but this time, she chose her second favorite genre – Jazz, Bossa and Samba.

To understand these genres, you must have at least some knowledge on their style of music. Please feel free to research on your own or read below for more reference.

  1. THEME: Jazz, Samba or Bossa
    • Sub-genres will be allowed.
    • Refer back to the stylistics and definitions of these genres before you create your entry. 
    • When in doubt, consult with one of the Ambassadors.
  2. VERSIONANDKEY:ย Any version and key as long as the track is in the style of Jazz, Samba or Bossa. 
    • Original jazz, samba and bossa will be allowed.
      • To provide a proof-link.
    • Revivals will be allowed.
      • To provide a proof-link.
    • Covers will be allowed.
      • Covers from unknown artists must be cleared by one of the Ambassadors.
      • To provide YouTube link.
  3. TRACK: Individual entry
    • For the NON-VIP, please use The HuskieS hub to open your track.
    • You may upload your own track.
  4. FORMAT: Audio format only.
  5. SOUND EFFECTS: Any sound effects except Super Harmony.
  6. LAYERS:
    • VIP: minimum of 1 main + 4 joins and no maximum.
    • NON-VIP: The HuskieS Hub + 5 joins and no maximum.
  7. BACKGROUND VOCALS: Pre-recorded backing vocals will NOT be allowed.
  8. ORIGINAL COMPOSITION: NOT allowed
  9. A CAPPELLA, MASH-UP and/or MEDLEY be allowed as long as it is in the style of Samba, Jazz and/or Bossa. For A Cappella:
    • Vocal percussions, beatbox, body percussions will be allowed.
    • Sound effects will be allowed.
    • Musical instruments will NOT be allowed.

  12. LATE ENTRIES: will NOT be accepted.
  13. DEADLINE: May 25, 11:59PM CST time.

FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE MECHANICS

Point deduction(s) from the average scores will be given under the discretion of the Ambassadors.

OLD ENTRIES CREATED BEFORE THE DATE OF RELEASE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. TASK MUST BE CLOSED AND MADE PUBLIC ON OR BEFORE THE DEADLINE DATE.
